My passion for Rallysport and photograpy goes way back to my youth, from night events like the Motoring News Road Rally Championship to the Club and National Championships in the forests of Wales, England & Scotland. Not forgetting the iconic RAC Rally of course! And I also did a lot of marshalling for my local MC.
After years of Rally abstinence due to work commitments, I decided to get back into the photography part of it in 2010. At the time I was posting my images on a Dutch motorsport website but soon after founded my own site MOTORSPORT-PHOTOGRAPY.eu
Within a couple of months I had got to know Uwe Cordes on the Stormarn Rally and at the beginning of the following year Joachim Krakow at a very cold Rosenhof Rallysprint. Very soon we were travelling together as a team to events all over Europe.
At the same time the site was developing into a kind of platform for photographers from all over the place who wanted to post their images. It was becoming apparent that we needed to find a more suitable name to match the development our site was making. This we did in Nov 2013 with the name-change to RALLY-MEDIA. Of course RALLY-MEDIA.com wouldn’t be as successful as it is without our photographer colleagues from Poland, Hungary, Finland, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. In particular it is worth mentioning our friends Greg Glinski who has been posting for about five years and who is now in his first almost full WRC season as a journalist and photographer, and Jari Nurminen of Rally Photos Finland (rallyphotos.kuvat.fi) who we have been working with the last five years.
A new development is that my wife Andrea has discovered what a fantastic sport this is, and has been doing her bit with social media posts and film work with Helmut Solke of Rallyefilme-Nord, which has now turned into a joint venture. So now we have Rallysport images and videos on this website!
And what better way to celebrate than by giving RALLY-MEDIA.com another facelift. Andrea, Uwe, Helmut, Joachim and I hope you like it – we hope to be out on the stages for another decade!

Die Leidenschaft zum Motorsport hat Rob Miller, Gründer von RALLY-MEDIA.com, aus seiner Heimat Großbritannien mitgebracht. Dabei hatte er die Autos anfangs gar nicht sehen können, sondern vor allem gehört. Er wohnte als Kind in einer Gegend in Wales, in der es viele Nachtrallyes gab. Die nächtlichen Motorengeräusche und Spotlights sorgten für Gänsehaut und waren der Start einer lebenslangen Liebe – der Liebe zum Rallyesport.
Nach einigen Jahren als Fahrer, Beifahrer und Streckenposten verschlug es ihn dann nach Deutschland, wo er zunächst für einige Jahre seinen Lieblingssport berufsbedingt aus den Augen verloren hatte.
Als er Ende der 2000er Jahre als Zuschauer mit Fotoapparat bewaffnet eine Rallye in Norddeutschland besuchte, ist der Funke sofort wieder übergesprungen. Der Weg vom Gastfotograf auf einer niederländischen Website zur eigenen Homepage war dann auch nicht weit – und danach ging alles richtig schnell. Auf der Stormarn Rallye 2010 traf Rob auf Uwe Cordes, einem gleichgesinnten Fotografen und Rallyefan, der direkt mit „dabei“ sein wollte. Und nur knapp ein Jahr danach vervollständigt Joachim Krakow, mit dem Rob auf dem Rosenhof Rallyesprint 2011 ins Gespräch kam, das Dreamteam. Die drei Rallyeverrückten waren oft gemeinsam, manchmal aber auch solo unterwegs und besuchten eine große Bandbreite an Rallyes – quer durch ganz Europa.
Und das Konzept besteht, mittlerweile verstärkt durch einige internationale Gastfotografen, bis heute fort. Egal ob regional, national oder international; RALLY-MEDIA.com setzt auf Vielfältigkeit und jede Menge Spaß am Rallyesport!
Neu ist, dass meine Frau Andrea sich immer stärker einbringt und vor allem mit Social-Media-Posts und als Interviewerin auf sich aufmerksam gemacht hat. Besonders die Filmarbeit zusammen mit Helmut Solke von der Rallyefilme-Nord, mit dem mittlerweile ein Joint Venture besteht, hat für jede Menge positives Feedback gesorgt. Und wie könnte man das besser feiern, als RALLY-MEDIA.com ein weiteres Facelifting zu verpassen? Andrea, Uwe, Helmut, Joachim und ich hoffen es gefällt euch genauso gut wie uns und bleibt uns auch in noch hoffentlich vielen weiteren Jahren (und Rallyes!) treu.
